Using the miter box and the saw, cut four pieces of 2x2 at 17-1/4" long.
Also, cut four pieces of the 1x3 at 19" long, and eight pieces of the 3/4" dowel at 2-1/2" long.

Remember: a 1x3 measures 3/4" x 2-1/2" and a 2x2 measures 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" square!
