Before we get started, let's review the lumber and supplies we'll need to build this table...
Lumber:
1 - 2x2 at 8 feet long 
1 - 1x3 at 8 feet long
1 - 3/4" square dowel rod
1 - 2' x 2' piece of 3/4" plywood

Supplies:
1 box of 1-1/2" wood screws
1 roll of 3/4" wide iron-on edge banding
1 bottle of wood glue
Sandpaper (80, 120 & 220 grits)
Finishing supplies (stain and sealer or paint)

Tools:
Household iron
Edge banding cutter or craft knife
Drill with a 1/8" drill bit for wood and a Phillips screw tip
Miter box with saw
Sanding block or piece of scrap wood
